I’m thrilled to feature Patricia Johns on my blog today! I’ve read several of her books and have enjoyed each one! Please read the interview and then leave a comment below to enter-to-win the giveaway of Grave Amish Secrets. (What a great title!) First, here’s her bio: Patricia Johns is a Publishers Weekly bestselling Amish fiction author, writing from Alberta, Canada. She relishes electricity and modern conveniences in her real life, but she loves to imagine what life would be like living without everything we so easily rely upon. If you were to peek in at her, you’d find her tapping away on her computer writing her newest book, or arranging her dollhouse furniture which has become a big passion of hers. You can keep up with her on social media, or sign up for her newsletter for a chance to win signed books and knitted surprises made with love by the author herself.

Impressive, huh?! And to add to the bio, I counted 59 novels listed on her website! That’s an incredible amount of books written in a relatively short time.

Without further ado, following is my brief but spectacular interview with Patricia.

INTERVIEW

1. Where do you find your inspiration to write romance?

I find it with my husband, honestly. We’ll have our twentieth anniversary this year–I can’t believe how fast the time has gone. We got engaged very quickly after we met and married that same year, so I know that loving and lasting relationships can begin exactly that way. I’m also a firm believer that there is a lid for every pot, and I hope that my readers find that hope in my stories. 

2.Where do you find your support to keep writing book after book?

My husband is my biggest support. If I didn’t have him behind me 100%, I don’t think I could write as much as I do. He’s my biggest fan, even though he doesn’t read my books. He tells everyone he knows that I’m a writer, and proudly gets books into their hands. My parents are also a huge help. They will do mail runs for me, do some baking behind the scenes to keep our family in snack food, and are generally a huge help. They made Christmas happen this last year while I was poring over deadlines. My son pitches in with some online content from time to time and will help out with chores, too. While I type this, he’s doing the dishes. So I’d have to say that I could never do this job without a big, loving support network behind me!

3. What do you do in your spare time?

What spare time? LOL! I’m only joking. Right now, I’m neck deep in deadlines, but when I do have a bit of spare time, I love dollhouse miniatures. I have these square little cubbies in my desk that are the perfect size for a dollhouse room, and I set them up like a dollhouse. I also have a little family of knitted frogs who live inside those rooms, and I post stories about their adventures on my Facebook and Instagram pages. I call it The Froggy Amish B&B. Yes, it’s Amish themed! It’s my fun creative outlet. If you follow me on social media, you can join in on the fun. We all enjoy George and Amelia Frog a lot.

  18. Oh my what a fulfilling career and personal life she has and is experiencing. I was intrigued with her Amish frog family along with her doll house miniature collection. She has a balance to her family and her writing that speaks of her love for God.

And yes Patricia is an Awesome author, and I love her little Frog Family. <3 You know I had never heard of "there is a lid for every pot" I really like that. 🙂 and yes 20 yrs is a pretty long time to be married. I have been married for 47 yrs. , it will be 48 yrs and we get along very good, I only knew my husband for a month before we moved in together and then after a year we got married , so we have actually been together for 49 years this year.   81. Love hearing about other couples that love each other and support each other through the years making for a wonderful marriage. It always reminds me of my parents. They met on a blind date and were married 7 days later. When my dad passed just shy of their 60 year anniversary, they were just as much in love as when they met. Loved the example of a lid for every pot!

    Love Patricia Johns’ books! So naturally, GRAVE AMISH SECRETS has been on my TBR list since it was first talked about.
