My memory of this summer is how hot it was / I don’t ever remember it being this hot
My favorite summer memory was when our family would go to KY at harvest time. My dad had 11 brothers and sisters. Three of my aunts didn’t live from grandma and grandpa and the brothers all lived and worked in Ohio. During Harvest 3 of the their sons took a weeks vacation to help their parents and siblings harvest their gardens. There was always a big crowd and all the cousins would play from sun up to sundown. The men worked the fields and the ladies canned the vegetables. At bed time we would go to a different home to sleep. Wherever they worked that is where 30-40 would gather to eat. The country was the best and oh the memories.

My favorite memory of this summer is a little unique, but for me it’s brought me pure joy, happiness and relief. I have waited 22 years to get approval from my medical doctor due to my rheumatoid arthritis to get two full knee replacements. I finally got the okay and am having my first knee done on September 3rd. This summer brings a memory I will never forget and will always be grateful. God doesn’t always answer our prayers when we think he should, he takes his time and answers when he thinks it’s time.
We went camping out west to the mighty 5 National Parks so beautiful out west

My favorite memory of this summer involves the local ducks. I live in a village where ducks roam through it. The ducks are smart (they know the places where they can get food and water, the nice people, the bad people, and they know their names). I treat them like I do the village cats. I gave them names and I keep a bowl of water out for them. When I do out into my front yard, the ducks quickly come waddling from down the street. You can hear their feet flapping on the pavement. Their tails wag when they are happy. I think they are cute and they make me smile.
My favorite summer memory: my first time in a small 4 seater airplane, piloted by my son, a retired Naval aviator, with his teenaged daughter, an aspiring pilot, and my husband. Beautiful scenery and a smooth flight.

Leslie, my entire summer has been one continuous blur of workers coming and going as we get a two-car garage added to our home and get ither renovations. I am sure the summer of 2026 will be long remembered as a summer of many disruptions as we are practically living out of boxes in our home while all this work is taking place.
